Officially founded in 1974 with the creation of the Engineering Faculty at Lakehead University, our history dates back into the 1960's as an engineering student society affiliated with Lakehead University's predecessor, Lakehead College. Today engineering is one of the largest faculties at Lakehead University with around 1000 active students in the engineering disciplines represented by ESS.
