Accelerated Growth for SMEs in Zambia (AGS) Programme
The Accelerated Growth for SMEs (AGS) in Zambia Programme is a private sector development initiative funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) of Zambia. It aims to directly support start-ups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to accelerate their growth and expand their contribution to the creation of jobs, well-being and inclusivity in the Zambian economy. AGS builds long-term business partnerships between Finnish and Zambian players and paves the way for sustainable commercial relations between the two countries. AGS works with growth-orientated MSMEs in agribusiness, forestry, renewable energy, circular economy and mining services. ICT and education are cross-cutting, horizontal sectors that add value to other sectors. The geographical focus of the programme is limited to the Lusaka, Copperbelt and North-Western provinces.
