Help Me Dream

Founded by Chiara Sebiguri, a young female Computer engineer from Goma, Help Me Dream is a local Congolese Community Based Organization (CBO) that seeks to reintegrate street children back into their home communities. Using a curriculum focused on arts, linguistics, and STEAM, Help Me Dream helps marginalized children reach their full potential, and understand their true value. Due to ongoing conflict and pervasive poverty, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has a large number of street children. Known as “Maibobo,” there are an estimated 8,000 alone in North Kivu, in the Eastern part of the country. Many of these children leave their homes in search of food, or to flee abuse. They are soon viewed by society as troublemakers, or worse, as people to be feared By creating a safe space where these children can come together, Help Me Dream seeks to change the narrative. Through targeted mentorship and a belief in the value of each individual child, Help Me Dream imagines a world with a brighter future for these children. You may feel like a drop in the bucket. But every drop counts! Follow Help Me Dream and support our dream. You can make a difference today.
