A specific learning disability [SLD] is a difficulty that interferes with a student's ability to listen, think, speak, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations. Students with a specific learning disability may struggle with reading, writing, or math. Dyslexia is a form of SLD which impairs a child's ability to read and write. If not addressed, this affects their performance in school, life and subsequently, their career.
