A specific learning disability [SLD] is a difficulty that interferes with a student's ability to listen, think, speak, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations. Students with a specific learning disability may struggle with reading, writing, or math. Dyslexia is a form of SLD which impairs a child's ability to read and write. If not addressed, this affects their performance in school, life and subsequently, their career. While SLD cannot be cured, there are avenues for children to cope with their difficulties by accessing different learning methodologies and learning aids. Using these aids and coping tools has the most impact if the child starts using them early [Between the ages of 5-12]. However, due to a lack of knowledge on SLDs and Dyslexia and the stigma attached, a child with SLD is not diagnosed early and does not access the care he/she requires on time. Unfortunately, this affects his/her performance in school and self-confidence. Building Awareness of Dyslexia and sensitizing communities will set the platform for identifying children with Dyslexia, thereby improving their chances of accessing alternate learning methodologies. This will ultimately lead to an improvement in their school performance and self-esteem. DLearners, A Platform as a Service (PaaS-based) organization, ensures that children with Specific Learning disabilities (SLD) are provided with a platform that ensures timely screening, early identification, and correct remediation. By leveraging our 8+ years of experience in SLD and through game-based assistive technology combined with Multisensorial VAKT learning techniques, DLearners is having resounding success in improving students' reading, writing and spelling skills with Dyslexia.
