Kafka Lens
Since its birth in 2011, Apache Kafka has gained immense popularity as it powers top companies like Linkedin, Netflix, Uber, and Twitter. Apache Kafka is a distributed, horizontally-scalable, fault-tolerant message streaming platform that can process and store massive amounts of data. It can be particularly useful as a message bus for connecting microservices in a loosely-coupled manner. Although Kafka itself is a very robust system, it can be challenging to build a microservice architecture around something that behaves a bit like a black-box, especially when trying to test new features and services to see that they are sending the correct data through Kafka. We have created Kafka Lens to solve this problem by allowing developers to quickly and easily connect to a running Kafka instance and inspect the state of all the topics contained within the Kafka brokers. A simplified GUI allows for easy navigation, taking the headache away from manually accessing your Kafka server using lengthy CLI commands.
