TL;DR
- What costs credits: revealing an email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 5, wherever you use Lusha. Signals, intent, recommendations, exports and API calls have their own small rates, all listed below.
- What’s free: searching and filtering in the app and extension, a lookup that finds nothing, re-viewing a contact you’ve already revealed, and browsing ranked tables before you reveal anyone.
- Paying twice: you don’t. Re-viewing a contact you’ve already revealed costs nothing, even in a later session.
- Waterfall: if Lusha checks extra sources and finds nothing, you pay nothing.
- Claude and ChatGPT: same credits, same rates, any plan, including free.
Surprises with Lusha credits usually come from one question nobody answers up front: what exactly did I just pay for? This page answers it for every place you use Lusha, with the rates as Lusha’s pricing page and documentation state them.

What’s free
Plenty of Lusha never touches your balance:
- Searching, filtering and viewing company info in the app and Chrome extension
- Re-viewing a contact you’ve already revealed, across sessions
- A lookup or CSV row that finds no match
- Browsing a ranked recommendations or buying group table before you reveal anyone
- Lusha Data columns and live CRM columns in Workspace
- Signals enrichment in Workspace when no signal is found
The practical habit: search first, look at what comes back, and reveal only the people you’ll actually contact.
Do I pay again to re-enrich a contact?
No. Once you’ve revealed a contact, viewing their details again costs nothing, even in a later session. You’re charged for each type of data you reveal, so re-checking a list you’ve already worked spends credits only on data you hadn’t revealed before, such as a phone number you skipped the first time.
Worth noting: credits aren’t refunded for a reveal you’ve already made, even if the contact’s data turns out to be incomplete.
What a Waterfall miss costs
Nothing. When Lusha doesn’t have an email or phone for a contact, Waterfall checks additional trusted sources for it. You’re charged 2 credits for an email or 8 for a phone only when one of those sources returns a match. If none does, no credits are spent. Waterfall is available on Pro and above, once an admin turns it on.
Credits in Claude and ChatGPT
The Lusha connector and plugin spend the same credits, at the same rates, as the rest of Lusha. There’s no separate AI allotment and no extra charge for using Lusha inside a chat.
- Any plan works, including the free plan.
- Filters are free. A search call follows API rules: 1 credit for each call that returns 1 to 25 results. A lookup that finds nothing costs nothing.
- Reveals are 1 credit for an email, 5 for a phone, the same as in the app.
If you only need to confirm someone holds a role, ask Claude to check without revealing their email or phone. You’ll see the match and decide whether a reveal is worth the credits.
How the API counts credits
The API charges for two things: the data you reveal, and the calls you make. Each call that returns 1 to 25 results costs 1 credit. So revealing an email and phone for one contact costs 7 credits: 1 for the email, 5 for the phone, and 1 for the call. If you’ve already revealed a contact’s email or phone, later requests don’t charge again for those same data points.
If your calls are rejected with a credit limit error while your dashboard still shows credits, check the limit set on that API key. A key can have its own monthly cap, separate from your account balance.
When credits renew
- Monthly plans: unused credits roll over, up to twice your monthly allowance. On a 100-credit plan, you can hold up to 200.
- Annual plans: all credits arrive up front and expire at the end of the cycle, even if you renew.
- Free plan: 40 credits that reset each billing cycle, with no rollover.
- Credits renew on your billing date, not on the 1st of the month. If you cancel, your credits stay available until the end of the billing period.

FAQs
How many credits does a phone number cost?
5 credits, in the app, the Chrome extension, Workspace, the API, and Claude or ChatGPT.
How many credits does an email cost?
1 credit.
Does searching cost credits?
In the app and Chrome extension, no. Through the API, MCP, Claude or ChatGPT, filters are free and each search call costs 1 credit per 1 to 25 results. The bigger costs are the emails and phones you reveal.
Do I pay twice if I reveal the same contact again?
No. Re-viewing a contact you’ve already revealed costs nothing, even across sessions.
Can I get credits back for an incomplete contact?
No. Credits aren’t refunded for reveals already made. A lookup that finds nothing isn’t charged in the first place.
Can I use Lusha in Claude on the free plan?
Yes. The connector and plugin work on any plan, including free, and use the same credits as the rest of Lusha.
What happens if Waterfall doesn’t find anything?
Nothing is charged. Waterfall credits are spent only when an extra source returns a match.
Do unused credits roll over?
On monthly paid plans, yes, up to twice your monthly allowance. On annual plans, credits expire at the end of the cycle. Free plan credits reset each cycle.
