Companies masked by letter, no people named, article titles withheld. Output below pulled live via the Lusha connector in Claude, October 31, 2026.
News signals carry an event date next to the publish date, and this skill makes Claude read the one that decides whether you call. Install it alongside the Lusha connector for Claude, name an account, and Lusha returns the account’s news signals sorted into current events, items to verify and history that only looks new. It ends with one opening line that has a date on it.
The prompt
With the skill installed, this is all you type. Claude picks the skill from the words “news signals” and “event date”.
Read the news signals on [company domain] for the last 90 days by event date.
Merge repeated articles, separate anything undated, and end with the single best
reason to call this week.Without the skill installed, use the longer prompt in the guide Read the event date, not the headline, which spells the rules out in the prompt itself.
What you’ll get back
The situation. An identity software company, about 1,000 employees, a target account with no open opportunity. The rep wants a reason to call this week and does not want to open with old news.
The output. Lusha returned 13 news signals in the 90 day window for 13 credits. The skill merged them into 8 events: 7 current, 1 older than the window.
| Event date | Type | Summary | Bucket |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sep 23, 2026 | Market intelligence | Named a leader in 150 analyst grid reports, first in 70. Two identical signals merged into one. | Current |
| Sep 17, 2026 | Market intelligence, product | CEO leadership recognition. The same release mentions agentic identity work, so two signals became one event. | Current |
| Sep 15, 2026 | Product | Credential vault reaches general availability. | Current, date from article |
| Sep 10, 2026 | Product | Identity controls extended to AI agents. | Current, date from article |
| Sep 3, 2026 | Market intelligence | Ranked second in an AI governance category. | Current |
| Aug 20 and 21, 2026 | Product | Two self-service releases: an application catalog and elevated privilege requests. | Current, date from article |
| Jul 2021 to Nov 2024 | Financial | Valuation, a Series F and two annual revenue figures, all from one company profile page published in September. Four signals, one page, no new event. | Older than window |
Opening line returned: “Four product releases since August 20 and a leader result across 150 analyst reports on September 23. Identity teams shipping at that pace usually hit [pain]. Worth 15 minutes?”
Credits charged: 13, reported in the response.
Live data note: account confirmed live via the Lusha connector, October 31, 2026. Signals refresh weekly, so a run today returns a different set.
Why it works
A news signal gets into a 90 day window because the article was published in it, which says nothing about when the event happened. Press releases restate history, profile pages republish years of funding under this month’s date, and one announcement syndicates into several signals. Lusha returns both dates and the article URL on every item, and this skill is the reading rule applied to those fields inside Claude: event date inside the window counts, one article is one event, an undated item on a third-party page is a lead to verify, and an undated item on the company’s own announcement takes its date from the article. The four financial signals above would have read as fresh funding news to a rep counting signals. The skill read the event dates, saw 2021 to 2024, and kept them out of the opening line. The rules were tested on live accounts and adjusted after the first run, which is why the “date from article” exception exists. Lusha’s handling of business contact data is described in the Trust Center; the skill sends only the company identifiers you name to your own Lusha account.
FAQ
Do I need the skill, or will the prompt alone work?
The prompt alone works if you spell the rules out, as the guide does. The skill lets you type one sentence and applies the rules the same way every time.
How do I install it?
Download the skill file from this page and upload it under Skills in Claude, or install the Lusha GTM plugin once it is listed in the Claude directory. Either way, connect Lusha from the connector list first.
Why were the four product launches marked “date from article”?
Their event date field came back empty, but each was the company’s own announcement with the date in the text (“now generally available”). The skill uses the publish date in that case and says so, rather than holding back news that is clearly current.
What does it cost to run?
Lusha charges per signal item returned. The skill caps items per signal type and reports the charge from the response. Current rates are on the pricing page.
Does this work in ChatGPT too?
The Lusha connector does, and the long-form prompt in the guide works in any assistant. The skill file format is Claude’s.
