A rep opens the account in Gong two minutes before the call. They see the deal and the last call notes. What they don’t see is the funding round from last week, the new VP who joined the buying side, or that the company was on your pricing page yesterday. This play puts that in front of them, inside Gong, before they dial.
It uses two Lusha connections on the Gong Collective: the Lusha MCP Server for Gong’s AI Briefer, and Lusha as an Enrich Data Partner for missing emails and phones.
Part 1: brief every call with Lusha signals
1. Connect Lusha. In Gong, open your MCP connections settings, select Lusha and authenticate. First-time setup needs a Gong Tech Admin who also has user or admin permissions in Lusha.
2. Choose the tools. Enable the Lusha tools your team should use, such as company and contact enrichment, buying signals, lookalikes and website visitors, and save.
3. Set the briefing prompt. Add this as a standing instruction for the AI Briefer, so every account brief pulls the same Lusha context without a rep typing it.
Before this call, use Lusha to brief me on this account:
- buying signals from the last 90 days, each with its date
- anyone on the call who changed jobs or was promoted recently
- whether the company has visited our website recently
- two lookalike companies I could reference as similar customers
Keep it under 150 words, newest signal first. Don't reveal contact details unless I ask.Part 2: fill the gaps before a flow runs
1. Turn on Enrich. In Gong Settings, open Data enrichment and switch Enrich on.
2. Add Lusha. On the Data partners tab, connect your Lusha account, or add Lusha as a Gong-provided partner to use Gong Credits.
3. Set the order. Place Lusha in the email waterfall and the phone waterfall. They’re ordered separately.
4. Enrich as contacts join a flow. Configure your Engage flows to enrich on add, so call steps have direct dials and email steps have verified addresses before the flow runs.
What you’ll get back
A short brief at the top of the account in Gong, like this:
Account brief: [company].com
- Raised a Series C, Oct 2 (Financial events news)
- Engineering hiring up, last 30 days (Surge in hiring)
- M.T. joined as VP Revenue, Sept 18 (on today's call)
- Visited your pricing page, Oct 14
- Similar customers: two lookalikes from your bookExample outputs in this play are illustrative. They reflect the structure, fields and format of real Lusha output, but were not pulled from a live session. Run the workflow with your own data to see live results.
Why it works
Reps already open Gong before a call, so that’s where the context has to be. Lusha’s signals are dated, which tells the rep what changed and when, not just that something did. A new leader on the call or a fresh funding round turns a status update into a reason to talk about what’s next. Enrich closes the other gap: the contact who can’t take a call step because there’s no phone on the record. The AI Briefer draws on your Lusha balance, and Enrich charges only when Lusha returns data.
FAQ
What’s the difference between the two Lusha connections in Gong?
Enrich fills missing emails and phones on contacts, from contact views and Engage flows. The MCP Server gives Gong’s AI agents, like the AI Briefer, access to Lusha signals, enrichment and lookalikes for call prep.
Who can set this up?
A Gong admin for Enrich. A Gong Tech Admin with Lusha user or admin permissions for the MCP Server.
How is it billed?
The AI Briefer uses your Lusha balance. For Enrich, you can use your own Lusha account or Gong Credits, which are charged only when Lusha returns data.
Do I need a Lusha account?
For the MCP Server, yes, on any plan. For Enrich, you can start on Gong Credits without one.
